Established in 1962, the French School of Kuala Lumpur (LFKL) is a non-profit profit school and welcomes students from many countries, from pre-elementary to high school. LFKL provides students with an international education that is underpinned by the French curriculum

LFKL is part of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad); a global network of 522 French schools in 139 countries that gathers 370 000 pupils, 40% French and 60% foreigners. AEFE is an agency under the administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France that assures the quality of schools teaching the French national curriculum outside France.

Despite following a French curriculum, the school welcomes everyone from any nationality. LFKL embraces cultural diversity, and its curriculum is designed to suit students of all cultures. Classes are taught by a team of highly qualified teachers; international staff members where some were locally hired educators. 

To date, LFKL has 730 pupils from 47 different countries, receiving a high standard education that includes cultural, artistic, technical, scientific, literary and sports activities.

The ambition of the LFKL is to maintain its level of excellence when welcoming new families and students. The school is well known for its high education standards, its outstanding results during national examination, (the DNB and Baccalaureate), and for the multiple international language certifications that our students pass every year. At the primary level, our language offer is enriched by the introduction of “Language Pathways” and the setting up of the “Passerelle integration program” provided for the non-French speaking children” – French school of Kuala Lumpur

Classrooms at LFKL are spacious and bright. Other facilities include science labs, technology classroom (robotics), rooms dedicated to physical education, nap rooms for toddlers, playgrounds for various activities, 25-meter swimming pool, gymnasium, rock climbing wall football and basketball court, an auditorium, a library and an airy and spacious canteen.

LFKL has a proven track record of success in both academic and extra-curricular activities. In 2017, LFKL obtained a 100% success rate at the Baccalaureate, with 80% of Graduation with honours at the 2017 session.
